Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are trudging through the last of the weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during cold nights. Not much is worse than laying down at night just to realize your furnace won’t turn on. If this happens to you, here are a few things you can check yourself before calling Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters monthly. If you fail to do so, they can end up clogged, restricting air flow and resulting in a furnace malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the true room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, verify the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem silly, but verify the power switch next to the heating equipment is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch has not been accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you inspect all these things and your heating system will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 954-736-4314 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
